Recognition as Outstanding Reviewer
I am glad to announce that this week I have been selected as one of the Outstanding Reviewers out of 7,293 reviewers at the 2024 European Conference on Computer Vision (ECCV)!
This was my first time serving as a reviewer for ECCV. I am grateful to the organizing committee for the invitation and honored by this recognition from the community.
This award follows the Outstanding Reviewer recognition I received at the 2024 IEEE/CVF Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR) in June, where I was also a first-time reviewer. It's gratifying to receive this recognition from both major conferences in the same year.
The Value of Quality Peer Review
I believe that writing high-quality reviews and providing constructive feedback is a fundamental service to our research community. Quality peer review helps ensure that disseminated research is relevant, impactful, and clearly communicated to readers.
The review process serves two important functions:
- For accepted papers: Clear acknowledgment and constructive feedback help authors strengthen their contributions for publication and presentation.
- For papers not accepted: Most of the cases, papers are not yet ready for publication and detailed feedback should clearly signal areas for improvement while recognizing the work's strengths, giving authors a path forward.
Congratulations to the Community
I am grateful for the opportunity to have contributed to both CVPR and ECCV in a positive way. I extend my congratulations to all the other Outstanding Reviewers recognized at these conferences: your dedication to quality review strengthens our entire field.
To the authors whose papers were not accepted: I hope the feedback you received is an opportunity to learn and grow and helps you improve your work for future submissions.
